Everybody knows that Pampanga is known for its sizzling sisig, crucifixion every holy week, Hot air balloons, beautiful girls and of course Jueteng, but forget about that,
i'll be telling you something about food which came from the middle east known as the Shawarma,
and now booming in Angeles City.
There is a place named SPECIAL SHAWARMA in Nepo quadrangle in Angeles City beside Big boy's Pizza offering a mouthwatering Shawarma sandwich for 55 pesos and Shawarma salad for 75 pesos which you can really enjoy, and of course i tried those myself and all i can say is MANYAMAN! (kapampangan term for Delicious).
They are roasting this Beef meat in an upright stove, when they know that its cooked they'll slice it well, even though the fires on and it really hot, it looked very easy so i tried it myself pero napamura ako sa sobrang init napaso pa ako (dala n lng siguro ng katangahan Kaya napaso). While doing the slicing they also prepare the bread and give it a little heat put the Beef the onions, green tomatos, pechay baguio, cheese and of course the sauce.
They have two sauce the Spicy Hot sauce which is not hot but very very very spicy and my favorite Garlic sauce, because of its rich and creamy texture as if they put melted cheese in it.
A lot of different people come to this place and enjoy the place's shawarma.
Students from different schools, white and blue collar workers from different companies, drivers, policemen, bystanders, politicians i guess everybody in Angeles city and Mabalacat have been to this place and tried the shawarma there, even Sheena Halili from GMA network tried it and said that its delicious. Ibig sabihin lng n kahit sino ka pa pag nandito ka sa lugar na toh pantay-pantay lng tayo. Walang mayaman, walang mahirap.
While eating your shawarma and drinking your beer you can also gain a friend in this little place, because the workers here are always smiling and laughing. That gives a happy ambiance to the place which make the customers relaxed, comfortable as if their just at home. Ive been a loyal customer of these place thats why i became a friend of the owner Mike "asta" Mendoza and Tess "tisay" Mendoza (a.k.a the mike tess tandem) and became a godfather to the kids of the beef meat samurai Kuya Jet and Joji Mendoza (oh pare kasama pa yung mga panagalan nyo oh).
